As the English players took a knee before kick-off to once again maintain their stance on racism having no place in the game, there were jeers and booing from the away stand. The police had to intervene soon after clashes broke out in the away section.

The metropolitan Police revealed there some arrests were made for racially aggravated comments made towards the steward. Some disorder followed in the away section while the arrest was being made, but the chaos did not last long according to the announcement made by “Metropolitan Police Events” on Twitter.

Shortly after the start of tonight's match at Wembley, officers entered the stand to arrest a spectator for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments made towards a steward.

The game finished in a 1-1 draw at Wembley. Luke Shaw’s high boot challenge in the box cost England an early lead, as Rolland Salai opened the scoring for Hungary, with a well-taken penalty. Their lead, however, did not last long as John Stones equalized for the home side.

Phil Foden was in the act for the Three Lions, as his delivery from a free-kick was flicked on by Declan Rice before John Stones snuck in a boot and finished it from close range. England dominated the proceedings in the second half but to no great avail. Stones had another great chance off another Foden cross, where he headed it just wide of the keeper’s left.

Although they mustered a disappointing result, they did put a step closer towards World Cup qualification with two games left to play. Poland, mathematically being in touching distance, failed to confirm their slot in Qatar in this international break, which can be sealed in November.

England’s remaining two games involve a home game against Albania, and an away trip to San Marino.
