Juventus are close to tying Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado to new contracts, as per reports. Meanwhile, the club is also attempting to offload Weston McKennie, whom they signed a year earlier from Schalke 04.
Paulo Dybala is one key player close to signing a renewal with the Turin-based club. The Argentina international nearly exited Juventus before the 2019/20 campaign but decided to stay and helped them to another championship. Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has made Dybala the star attraction at Juventus, and the club is close to tying him down to a new deal that will run until 2025, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Romano also reports that Colombian Juan Cuadrado is in line for a contract extension at Juventus. The winger went through a career renaissance under Maurizio Sarri, and later, Andrea Pirlo. He ended up representing the Old Lady 85 times from the start of the 2019/20 season until the end of the subsequent one. Cuadrado has made seven appearances this season and is a key member of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad. Juventus are expected to renew his contract for one season – until 2023.
One player the club is attempting to offload is USA international Weston McKennie, reports Tuttosport. The midfielder joined Juventus from Schalke 04 in 2020, initially on loan before permanently. McKennie played 46 times for the Italian giants in his first full season and scored six times.
He was the subject of interest from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in summer 2021, albeit a move never materialized. It is reported that the club wants to sell him in January and direct the funds received from his sale towards a bid for AS Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni.
