Salah, Mane, and Firmino were all on the scoresheet for Liverpool in their 5-1 win over Porto. In the other group game, Atletico Madrid turned a deficit around to defeat AC Milan in controversial circumstances.

The Reds swept aside a hapless Porto at the Dragao, scoring five goals against the Portuguese outfit in their second UEFA Champions League group stage game. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 18th minute, capitalizing on an error by defender Zaidu Sanusi, who failed to clear the lines after Diogo Costa had saved Curtis Jones’ shot.

Sadio Mane doubled the Reds’ lead on the stroke of half-time by tapping the ball into an unguarded net after a superb cross from James Milner, who had been playing as the right-back.

The Egyptian got his second right on the hour-mark. The Egyptian was found in space by Jones with the Porto defence dragged to one side, and he calmly slotted the ball below Costa to triple Liverpool’s lead. Porto pulled one back through striker Mehdi Taremi before substitute Roberto Firmino scored twice in four minutes to give Liverpool a big win.

At the San Siro, AC Milan took an early over lead over Atletico Madrid through Rafael Leao. Brahim Diaz – who was influential in the opening stage -, protected the ball inside the box before playing it to Leao, who shot across Jan Oblak and into the bottom corner.

However, the Rossoneri were left in a position of vulnerability when Franck Kessie received his marching orders in the 29th minute. The Ivorian picked up two bookings, both for fouls on Marcos Llorente.

Los Rojiblancos found breaching the Milanese defense incredibly difficult but eventually had a breakthrough in the 84th minute. Antoine Griezmann scored his first goal since his return to the Rojiblancos by latching onto a Renan Lodi cross and volleying emphatically past Mike Maignan.

Drama ensued in additional time when the referee pointed to the spot after Pierre Kalulu was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box. Luis Suarez stepped up and converted the penalty to swing the tie in favor of Atleti.
