The Catalans are planning to rebuild their squad as Mundo Deportivo understands that they have already formed their transfer wishlist ahead of the next summer window. We could see the Blaugrana in action in the market as early as January.
RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo has been linked with a move back to his boyhood club, and the Spaniard is said to be in favor of returning to Camp Nou. Barcelona tried to sign the 23-year-old in the final hours of the summer window, but the Bundesliga side were not interested in selling him with technically, having no time to look for a replacement.
Barcelona are now expected to return for Olmo in January, and Leipzig could demand as much as 70 million euros for the player. Barca will hope to get the asking fee down through negotiations though only time will tell if Barcelona want to pursue Olmo or instead, go all out for Haaland next summer.
Borussia Dortmund marksman Erling Haaland is likely to move next summer as the Norwegian’s contract has a release clause worth 77 million euros which only becomes active in June 2021. Numerous clubs are already eyeing his signature, and it will all boil down to the winning project of the clubs interested and their ability to offer the most lucrative contract.
Barcelona are in the race for Haaland but are not the favorites to sign the 21-year-old, given their delicate financial situation. The Blaugrana might be able to afford to pay the release clause, but if reports are to be believed, Barca will find it extremely difficult to pay the commission fee and the wages that Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola is said to be demanding. Barcelona are up against Real Madrid and Manchester City, who are considered the favorites to sign the prospect.
Finally, there is Paul Pogba who, as it stands, will become a free agent next summer with the option of negotiating a pre-transfer contract with any club that might approach him. While Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be the favorites to land the Frenchman, Barcelona view the 29-year-old as an attractive option and could go for him, if the Red Devils fail to renew his contract.
