Gareth Bale’s injury woes continue as the Welshman ruptured his right hamstrings in a training session on Saturday.

The 32-year-old has made a good start to the 2021/22 campaign under new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti but now faces the prospect of missing another seven weeks of football, at least, having already missed the games against Celta Vigo (5-2) and Inter Milan (1-0) past week.

Ancelotti upon returning to the Bernabeu wanted to give Bale a greater role than the one he had under Zinedine Zidane, but the injury setback has now forced him to alter his plans. The right-winger’s injury problems are not new as he has had recurrent injuries over the past two months, causing him to miss months.

Bale, Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr were starting to form a deadly attacking unit, but it seems like Ancelotti will now need to count on Rodrygo, at least until Bale is out.

The 32-year-old is set to miss the games against Mallorca, Valencia, Villareal, Sheriff, Espanyol, Athletic, Shakhtar, Barcelona, Osasuna, Elche, Shakhtar, and Rayo Vallecano.

It is understood that Bale is expected to return in the third week of November and could make it to the game against Granada, though it is highly likely that Los Blancos would not want to rush him straightaway.

Gareth Bale estará de baja entre 8 y 10 semanas por la rotura en los isquios de la pierna derecha que se produjo hoy justo hace 1 semana.

El jugador está tocado anímicamente porque se sentía cómodo y muy implicado con Ancelotti.

Miguel Angel Diaz (COPE) confirmed that the investigations conducted on Bale to determine the extent of injury revealed that it was a major injury, and the minimum recovery time is said to be two months.
