Jude Bellingham became the youngest ever player to score in two consecutive UEFA Champions League ties when he found the net against Besiktas in Borussia’s 2021/22 Champions League opener (2-1).

In doing so, the Englishman broke the record previously held by Kylian Mbappe – which the latter had set in 2017 while still at Monaco. Mbappe’s record stood at 18 years and 85 days; Bellingham beat it by seven days.

Last night, Jude Bellingham became the youngest player to score in consecutive #UCL games, breaking the record previously set by Kylian Mbappe..

The England international scored the first goal of Borussia Dortmund’s 2021/22 UEFA Champions League campaign. He got the better of his marker inside the box before volleying a cross from Thomas Meunier into the net. Bellingham later assisted Erling Haaland for his first Champions League goal of the season; the teenager beat opposition defenders with his quick feet on the right side of the penalty box before playing a simple pass across for Haaland to convert.

Despite shipping a late goal, Dortmund held on to win their opening group game of the new season. Bellingham, who walked away with the man of the match award, also became the youngest Englishman to score an away goal in the competition, beating the record previously set by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Growing in importance with each match, Bellingham has participated in all four of Dortmund’s Bundesliga outings this season. The 18-year-old scored in their 3-2 win over Hoffenheim on matchday three of the league. His total tally, at present, stands at six goals from 53 games for BVB.

Bellingham’s displays for Dortmund have attracted the attention of a few of the English giants. Reports earlier this week spoke of Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder, while Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City have all been accredited with interest in the past.

The youngster previously turned down a move to United in favor of transferring abroad but could find his way back to the Isles in the future.
