Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt laid the perfect foundation for their side by putting up 122 runs for the first wicket partnership. South Africa Women eased their way to the target with 13.2 overs in the bank.

West Indies Women were sent in to bat first in a bid to save the series. Shabnim Ismail, who was later adjudged player of the match, got rid of opener Hayley Matthews and subsequently picked up three wickets during her 10-over spell and was a constant nuisance for the opposition batters.

Wicket-keeper Rashada Williams (37 off 79) and Deandra Dottin (71 off 123) added 79 runs for the thirrd wicket after losing two early batters. After the duo was sent back to the dressing room, South African bowlers enjoyed supremacy and didn’t allow any other batter to reach double figures. Windies were bowled out for just 157 runs.

Contrary to the West Indies start, South Africans were off to a flyer thanks to Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt. Lee remained not out on 78 runs, while Wolvaardt reached her half-century before getting added to Qiana Joseph’s wickets list.

The latter picked up a couple of wickets during the middle phase of the game, but the ball was firmly in South Africa’s court. Skipper Dane van Niekerk came out to the centre and ensured there would be no more obstacles in the way.

SA reached 158 in the 37th over and won the fixture with eight wickets to spare. As a result, they lead the five-match series 3-0 and have essentially won the series already, which shows how one-sided this contest has been.
