Los Blancos came from 2-1 behind to beat Vigo side 5-2 at Santiago Bernabeu.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti chose to start with Benzema up front, flanked by Eden Hazard and Vinicius Jr. Federico Valverde started in midfield alongside Luka Modric and Casemiro, whilst Nacho and Eder Militao were the pairing in central defence. Youngster Miguel Gutierrez was given the start instead of veteran Marcelo.

An error by the Real Madrid backline allowed Santi Mina to open the scoring for Celta in the fourth minute. Los Blancos hit back in the 24th minute as Benzema scored emphatically from inside the box following a first-time volleyed pass by Valverde.

Seven minutes past Madrid’s equalizer, Celta re-took the lead; Franco Cervi’s first-time backheel flick cannoned back off the post, but the Argentine winger converted on the second time of asking.

Benzema and Real Madrid took hold of the game soon after the interval; the Frenchman scored his team’s second equalizer a minute past the restart before setting up Vinicius Jr for the go-ahead goal.

Debutant Eduardo Camavinga, who came on to replace Hazard midway through the second half, scored six minutes into his introduction. The teenager was on hand and alert to slot the ball into an empty net after goalkeeper Matias Dituro had initially denied Modric with a fine save.

Real Madrid were awarded a penalty three minutes from full-time when Vinicius was brought down in the box by Denis Suarez. Benzema stepped up to convert from the spot, completing his treble in the process. Los Blancos, as a result, went top with ten points from four games.
