Cristiano could make his second debut for United against United this weekend. If the 36-year-old is to be believed, his upcoming appearance would be the first of many stretching over several years.

“I am not here for a vacation. As I told you, before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago, but I am here to win again,”

“I am capable, me and my team-mates. I am ready to go, I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead. I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years.”

    Ronaldo said.

Ronaldo, who broke the record for most international goals in men’s football during the latest window, is expected to feature on the weekend against Newcastle United (September 11).

The Portugal international was granted early release from international duty, following which he joined the first team training at Manchester United’s Carrington base. He also observed a short quarantine period upon his arrival back in England and is all set for his second debut at Old Trafford.

Manchester United pipped rivals City on the final days of the summer transfer window to re-sign Ronaldo from Juventus. The Red Devils paid a nominal fee for his services, with most of their budget targeted towards his astronomical wages and bonuses.

The club even moved pieces around to grant Ronaldo his iconic number 7 shirt, which he will wear throughout the campaign. To do so, the club secured special dispensation from the Premier League, who allowed Ronaldo to don his preferred number despite it being featured on Edinson Cavani’s shirt already this season.
