It has once again been made clear that Tanguy Ndombele’s days at Tottenham are numbered as their manager has confirmed that the midfielder isn’t part of his plans for the next Premier League match.
Spurs signed the Frenchman from Olympique Lyonn in 2019 for 55.45 million pounds, with around 9 million in add-ons. Despite the hefty sum, the deal was then considered a bargain.

However, Ndombele has been all but a shadow of himself in the Premier League. After failing to impress under Mauricio Pochettino, he fell out of favour under Jose Mourinho as well, with the Portuguese openly criticizing the player for his lack of professionalism.
Given his talent, Spurs loyalists hoped that Ndombele would be able to find his place in the team under Nuno Espirito Santo, but that has not been the case. Last week, Santo clarified that the midfielder is not in his plans, hinting that the club is trying to off-load him.
In a press conference today ahead of their third Premier League clash against Watford, Santo has further confirmed that the situation regarding the 24-year-old has not changed one bit.
“No, we speak yesterday and we speak the day before, Tanguy is with us. He’s not been an option. Nothing has changed really,”
explained the Portuguese, as per quotes in Football London.
On being asked about whether Spurs need more signings to compete with the elite teams of England, Santo said:
“When I said competitive (squad) earlier it’s among ourselves, by changing something that needs to be changed, by building the commitment permanently on us. This is being competitive. We don’t expect to find solutions outside. I think the solutions are inside. It’s us that needs to be competitive.”

Ndombele’s compatriot countryman Moussa Sissoko might also leave North London in the next few days.
Sissoko has been heavily linked with a move to Watford, but Santo was tight-lipped when he was asked about the situation at today’s press conference.
“Until the moment (when the transfer is confirmed), Moussa is a Spurs player. Nothing is done, so I don’t have much to add,”
Santo stated.
