The Foxes found themselves on the wrong end of a thrashing on Monday night, as they were beaten 4-1 at the London Stadium. Brendan Rodgers’ side had Ayoze Perez sent off for dangerous play, while Michail Antonio scored a brace for West Ham.

Antonio scored two goals and set up another for Said Benrahma as the Hammers brushed aside Leicester to secure their second win of the season. By scoring his two goals, Antonio, who started his career as a full-back, also became the club’s leading Premier League scorer of all time.

The Engl was joined by the familiar trio of Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals in attack for West Ham, as David Moyes named an unchanged line-up for the second week running.

Rodgers named the same starting XI as the season opener, meaning Jamie Vardy led the line with Harvey Barnes, James Maddison, and Ayoze Perez in support.

Benrahma tested the waters early on with a speculative shot from distance which was easily held by Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester goal. The Algerian’s first telling contribution of the game came in the 26th minute when he provided the assist for Fornals’ opening goal.

He then scored himself in the 56th minute after being set up by Antonio, who had capitalized on a poor back pass by Caglar Soyuncu. In between the two strikes, Leicester had Perez sent off for dangerous play upon VAR review.

Leicester gave themselves a glimmer of hope when Youri Tielemans scored in the 69th minute – the Belgian turning the ball past the goalkeeper the second time of asking. However, a late Antonio finishing masterclass allowed the Hammers to pull away and finish with four goals scored for the second consecutive week.

The Hammers have scored four each in their two matches so far and conceded only three in return. They are level on points and goal difference with both Chelsea and Liverpool but are marginally ahead of them in the table by virtue of total goals scored. Leicester are down to the 12th spot.
