Jovic is determined to prove himself at Real Madrid as he claims that he did not come to the Spanish capital by fluke. Despite a shaky start to life in Spain, the forward is confident of bouncing back. He is confident in his ability and hopes to succeed at the Santiago Bernabeu, but a loan move cannot be ruled out.

Jovic made his name at Eintracht Frankfurt when he scored 27 goals for the Eagles, guiding them to the Europa League semi-finals in 2019. Although Frankfurt lost that match against Chelsea, the 23-year-old made a great impression, becoming one of the sought after youngsters in Europe at that time. Therefore, he was snapped up by the Merengues in the following summer. But things have not gone as per plan for the Serbian youngster.

He failed to make a mark at the Santiago Bernabeu in his first season at the La Liga. He was restricted to a bench role and could only manage a couple of goals. The Serbian youngster was loaned out to Eintracht last season where again he did not have a great season in the Bundesliga as he netted four goals in 18 appearances.

Despite all the roadblocks in his career, Jovic is determined to prove his worth at Real Madrid. But he is yet to speak with the new manager, Carlo Ancelotti. Speaking on the matter, the 23-year-old said:

I haven’t spoken with the new coach [Carlo] Ancelotti about my situation.

He has started preparing and I am giving everything I can in every moment, trying to impose myself and to be best prepared as possible for the new season.

I try to give a positive impression and show what is my best. Many things have happened in recent years. I am sure that I could have been better, but I want everything to turn out well in the end. I didn’t arrive at Real Madrid by accident.

Real Madrid signed the Serbian marksman for a whopping £51million after his heroics with Frankfurt side. But Jovic’s performance has been nowhere near to his lofty valuation and the management feels that he can realize his potential in the upcoming seasons.

Real Madrid are heavily interested in Paris Saint-Germain’s talisman Kylian Mbappe. Also, with Karim Benzema taking up the centre stage, Jovic may be shipped out yet again this summer.

Some things will be important for me, to be in a good league and to have chances to play.

After all the time that I had away from the pitch, given my age, if there is a loan, the priority is to be at a club that recognises my quality enough for me to be a constant option as a starter.

    Jovic added.
