England’s injury woes seem to see no bounds. According to the England coach Chris Silverwood, the medical team is working onMark Wood and if he’s not alright, the team won’t be pushing him to play.

The 31-year-old Durham fast bowler hurt his shoulder while trying to save a boundary on the fourth day of the game, and he jarred his shoulder in the process.

He was seen with a heavy strapping on his shoulder on the final day and he even bowled a few overs with the injured shoulder.

Wood joins the long list of injured players for England. Jofra Archer is already ruled out for the year due to his elbow injury while Stuart Broad has been ruled out of the series due to a calf hamstring. Meanwhile, Chris Woakes missed the first two Tests because of a bruised heel. Ben Stokes has taken a break due to personal reasons.

“The medics are working on him. We’ll find out more in the next couple of days. We will make a decision, along with him and our medics, closer to the time. But if he’s not right, he’s not right. I certainly won’t push him into playing if he tells me he’s not right. I will look after him,”

    Silverwood was quoted saying.

There is a gap of nine days between the second and the third Test. The third Test, which is at Headingley, Leeds, is set to start on August 25.

India lead the series 1-0 after recording a remarkable come-from-behind-win in the second Test at Lord’s.
