Barcelona are looking to make their fifth signing of the summer as the Blaugrana have added Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Gaya to their list of players who could potentially succeed at the Camp Nou next season.
This is understood by a report from Express. The report also adds that the Blaugrana is open to selling as many as four players to raise the funds required to sign Insigne from Napoli.
The 30-year-old is currently valued at €48 million as per Transfermrket but with his contract set to run out next year, negotiations with Napoli could bring down the transfer fee for the Italian.
Lorenzo Insigne is currently representing Italy at the Euro 2020 where he has scored one goal from two games. Last season, Insigne scored 19 times and supplied on six occasions from 35 outings. These are decent stats for any player.
It is understood that Barcelona are open to selling Antoinne Greizmann, Philippe Coutinho, Martin Braithwaite, and Franciso Trincao this summer.
Greizmann hasn’t looked his best since he joined Barcelona back in 2019 for a reported fee of €120 million. The Frenchman scored 20 goals and assisted on 12 occasions last season in 51 outings. Barcelona would’ve certainly hoped for much more from Greizmann but it is likely that he will be given one last chance to prove himself at the Camp Nou next season as he hasn’t been a total flop overall.
Philippe Coutinho has struggled for playtime with injuries and inconsistency ever since he made the move to Barcelona in 2018 and Barcelona are looking to offload him in the summer window to offload their wage bill.
Martin Braithwaite and Franciso Trincao are also said to be up for sale. Braithwaite hardly featured for the cules last season and when he did, his performances were not all impressive. Trincao on the other hand looked impressive whenever he was used by Koeman but the way the attack is shaping up for the Blaugrana, Trincao could struggle to find himself minutes on the pitch next season. At 21, the winger has been showing immense potential and could consequently be sent on a loan spell.
