Romelu Lukaku flew to Monaco on the night of August 9, intending to fly to England the subsequent morning to complete his transfer to Chelsea. The Blues, meanwhile, have agreed to sell Tammy Abraham to make space for the Belgian.

Chelsea are one step away from announcing Romelu Lukaku as their new summer signing. The Blues agreed a 115 million euros club-record fee with Inter Milan towards the end of the previous week, and the Belgian underwent part of his medical in Italy.

The Belgian was pictured coming out of his medical tests with a Chelsea jersey in hand. Later, the 28-year old out of Milan along with his agent to complete the move.

Reports late last night confirmed that Lukaku had flown to France, where he and his agent, Federico Pastorello, were to have some meetings. The forward landed in Nice, reports Gianluca Di Marzio, and would be travelling to Monaco for the aforementioned meetings on Tuesday He would subsequently fly to London to complete his return to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham edges closer to an exit. In the end of the previous season, West Ham, Aston Villa, Atalanta, Arsenal, and AS Roma have all shown interest in signing the youngster, but reports claim it is down to the latter two for the final transfer.

Sky Italia reports that there is an agreement between Chelsea and Roma for the transfer of the Englishman. The two clubs have agreed on a 34 million pounds fee, but the Romans are yet to receive the approval of the player himself.

While the player has declared himself a fan of Arsenal in the past, Chelsea’s reluctance to sell their academy product to one of their fiercest rivals could complicate a potential transfer. The Blues, says Sky, would prefer to sell Abraham to a foreign club.
