New manager means a new lease of life for several players who, previously, had been sidelined, loaned, or marked for sale. To that end, Carlo Ancelotti’s return at Real Madrid seems to have blocked the impending exits of certain stars.

Returning loanees are expected to be handed a second chance by new head coach, reports Diario AS. The trio spent parts of the last two years on loan in North London but have reported back to Madrid for pre-season.

Ceballos spent the last two seasons on loan at Arsenal. The Spaniard started well under the then-manager Unai Emery but faded towards the end of his first season under new head coach Mikel Arteta. Nevertheless, The Gunners returned to Real last summer to loan Ceballos for another season, before similarly fetching Martin Odegaard six months later. The Norwegian wonderkid had a much more enjoyable spell in North London, and the club remains keen to bring him back to this day.

Bale, meanwhile, returned to the site of his boyhood years last summer as he rejoined the club where he made his name – Tottenham Hotspur. His return to the Premier League yielded good short-term results, with the player registering 11 goals in 20 appearances. However, new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed that the club would not be bringing the Welshman back for another season in his first press conference.

Nonetheless, all three players are now expected to stay at Santiago Bernabeu, as reported by Diario AS. The club has blocked their exit with the new season around the corner and financial distress looming large in the background. Madrid have signed just one player so far this summer – David Alaba, who arrived on a free transfer.
