New Tottenham boss confident of Harry Kane’s stay amid transfer speculations

England captain has been a hot prospect in the transfer market this summer. Kane recently guided England to the Euros final following a fantastic season with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Both Manchester City and United are interested in the 27-year-old striker. The Cityzens are more eager to rope in the English skipper as they look for a replacement of club legend Sergio Aguero. They are also looking to cash in on Gabriel Jesus to free up more funds, which they can use in Kane’s transfer.

However, despite all the speculations, new Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo believes that Kane is going nowhere this summer. When quizzed about the player’s future, Nuno was confident that the 27-year-old is a Spurs player and he claimed that he had zero doubts about that fact:

“Harry is our player. No need to talk about anything else. Period. Now is the time for Harry to recover his energy and rest. When he returns is the time to talk. He needs to prepare for what’s to come.

I have no doubts in my mind. I have no doubts. What I wish is for Harry to recover well. Have a good rest and when he arrives he will feel that every one of us has to commit ourselves to become better.

“We are very ambitious, we are ambitious people and we want to do it well and [we have] no doubts on Harry on that.”

The rumours around Kane are unlikely to go away anytime soon. His inability to win trophies at Spurs has only added more fire to the transfer talk. With top European clubs promising more success, it will be a tall task for the Lillywhites to keep hold of their talismanic striker.

Spurs had a very underwhelming Premier League season as they finished seventh in the points table. But nothing stopped Kane from winning the ‘Golden Boot’ netting 23 goals. Therefore Nuno wants to retain his most prized possession in the roster. The Portuguese tactician is also looking to bring in some reinforcements for the upcoming season.

The Lillywhites have shown interest in Bologna’s Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu. The ambidextrous defender can play as a centre back and can also slot in as fullback adding valuable depth to any team. The young defender can be Santo’s first signing at the club.
