Rashid Khan has been a pillar for Sunrisers Hyderabad, guiding his side to innumerable victories. The Afghani all-rounder reckons that youngster Abhishek Sharma will go on to play a lot of matches for his national side.

Sunrisers Hyderabad finally ended their losing streak in the Vivo IPL 2021 after registering a win against the Punjab Kings on Wednesday. After the game, Sunrisers’ ace leg-spinner Khan praised Abhishek Sharma, the young all-rounder, who contributed greatly to his team’s win.

Abhishek was given the responsibility to open the bowling for Hyderabad and the all-rounder didn’t disappoint. He bowled four overs for only 24 runs and picked up the wickets of Deepak Hooda and Moises Henriques.

“You will become a proper all-rounder for India in the future who will play a lot of matches for his side. You have a lot of ability. If you work hard, you will get success,”

    Rashid told Sharma.

Abhishek then explained how he prepared himself to take on the challenge. He revealed that it was only when the team got together for the huddle when it was decided that Abhishek will open the innings with the ball. Abhishek claimed he has been working on his bowling for a while now and was confident about delivering a good performance.

He said that during the lockdown, he tried developing a new variation called ‘slider’ with the help of his father. He noted that he used it in the match against PBKS, which worked out well.
