Bangladesh to quarantine for just one day in Zimbabwe

Bangladesh will undergo quarantine for just one day after they land in Zimbabwe for their month-long tour. They will land in the African country on June 29 and will be allowed to resume training from July 1. That will allow them to play a two-day practice game in the lead up to the one-off Test.

“We will have to do one-day quarantine and later we will do our regular activities (from July 1),”

BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan was quoted saying to the reporters on Wednesday.

This one-day quarantine period allows Bangladesh to squeeze in a two-day warm-up match in the lead-up to the one-off Test match. This two-day game is scheduled to be played on July 3 and July 4.

Bangladesh is scheduled to travel to Zimbabwe for a full-fledged tour comprising one Test match, three ODIs and three T20Is. The one-off Test match will be played on July 7, while the ODI series is going to start on July 16. The T20Is will kickstart on July 23, and the tour will come to an end on the 27th.

All the national cricketers are currently playing the Dhaka Premier League. This T20 tournament is scheduled to finish on June 26. Hence, it is tough to squeeze in any camp at home before the Bangladesh cricketers fly to Zimbabwe.

“We have not planned for any practice at home but we need to talk with the head coach to know his mind. There can be Test cricketers in DPL teams that won’t reach the Super League of the tournament and in that case they will be free. If they are keen to do practice we will surely make some arrangements for them,”

    Khan further added.

    SCHEDULE:

Only Test, July 7 to July 11: Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo

First ODI, July 16: Harare Sports Club

Second ODI, July 18: Harare Sports Club

Third ODI, July 20: Harare Sports Club

First T20I, July 23: Harare Sports Club

Second T20I, July 25: Harare Sports Club

Third T20I, July 27: Harare Sports Club
