The ace New Zealand speedster feels his side are in great place to create a bit of history. Moreover, he was also hopeful that he can be a part of the second Test match against England.

The England cricketing summer is all set to kick off, and it is the two-match Test series between England and New Zealand that gets things underway. The latter have travelled to England for a Test series after six years.

However, the NZ touring party is missing Trent Boult. The 31-year-old fast bowler flew back home after the IPL 2021 was suspended as he wanted to spend time with his family. But Boult is expected to land in the United Kingdom on the 4th of June, and he is hopeful of playing the second Test match against England, which starts on the 10th of June at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.

Boult admitted that he is feeling good ahead of a big game. Also, he has been training quite a bit back home in Mount Maunganui.

“Everything is feeling good with what lies ahead, a big stage for the World Test Championship final, and hopefully I can get over there and be part of that second test as well,”

Trent Boult was quoted saying after completing a training session on the 1st of June (Tuesday) close to his house in Mount Maunganui.

The ace New Zealand fast bowler is looking forward to the World Test Championship final as well. Moreover, the prospect of bowling with the Dukes ball, which tends to nip around quite a bit, has got Boult excited. Moreover, he admitted that New Zealand are ‘in a great place to create a bit of history’.

“To get into that final and get this opportunity, the excitement is definitely ramping up now and once I step foot in the UK.

Once I smell that English fresh air and see the [Dukes] ball move about, I’ll definitely be excited.

The way this group has travelled in New Zealand and around the world, I think the boys are in a great place to create a bit of history,”

    Boult added.

After the conclusion of the two-match Test series against England, New Zealand face India in the WTC final, which starts on the 18th of June in Southampton.
