Pakistan will depart a couple of days late for their limited-overs tour of England after the Pakistan Cricket Board has postponed the final of the Pakistan Super League 2021 in the UAE.

The final of the UAE leg of the PSL 2021 will now be held on June 24, which is four days later than the originally planned date. The decision was taken on Tuesday afternoon following an online meeting and discussions with the six PSL franchise owners.

“Pakistan men’s team to now depart for England on 25 June instead of 23 June,”

PCB said in a media release.

The board added that it continues to engage with the Abu Dhabi government with the hope to try and finally commence the rescheduled event on June 7.

“Departure for England on 25 June will mean only three double-headers, if the event commences on 7 June,”

     the PCB added.

The PCB couldn’t resume the PSL 2021 on June 1 in Abu Dhabi after a visa delay issue faced just ahead of the tournament but is aiming to get it going again six days later finally.

The PCB also informed that former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and six others have already landed in Abu Dhabi. The contingent it had managed to send on time via chartered flights will be finishing its seven-day quarantine on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, this will be the third straight summer when Pakistan will be in England for an international assignment. The Asian giants will face the defending ODI world champions in a three-match series part of the ICC Super League and also play three T20Is in the build-up to this year’s T20 World Cup.

The ODIs will be played on July 8, 10 and 13 in Cardiff, Lord’s, and Birmingham, respectively, followed by the T20Is on July 16, 18 and 20 at Trent Bridge, Headingley and Old Trafford.
