A 26-women Pakistan contingent is all set to undergo a training camp, which will be for 25 days from the 29th of May in Multan. The conditions in Multan are not the easiest as the next 30 days are likely to see temperatures go past the 40-degree mark.

“Each venue had its own challenges around the pandemic. Multan was the only feasible facility available as a package.

It has the ground, gym, and accommodation within one block, and it’s easy to maintain the bio-secure bubble there.

But we are conscious and mindful of the extreme weather conditions, and that is why we have scheduled the training sessions to avoid the hottest part of the day. We are starting early in the morning and ending by midday, giving them ample rest in the day, and we’ll start again in the evening,”

the chair of the PCB’s women’s selection committee Urooj Mumtaz said.

After this 25-day camp, Pakistan Women could return to international cricket in a series against Sri Lanka Women. The Pakistan Cricket Board and Sri Lanka Cricket are already in talks, discussing a potential series in Sri Lanka in July.

Pakistan Women last played an international match in February. They travelled to South Africa, and lost three ODIs and two T20Is in a row before winning the last game of the tour.
