Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has pledged his future to Liverpool amid rumours of a potential Celtic switch.

The 27-year-old Scottish left-back who plays for Liverpool and leads the Scotland national team has played down rumours about a possible Celtic move. The full-back is a boyhood Celtic fan and had previously said that it’s his dream to play for them. However, he has now decided to end his career at Anfield.

When asked about whether he would move to Celtic in the future, he said:

“I get asked this question a lot. Look, my aim is to finish at Liverpool, and I’d love to finish at Liverpool, but I know how tough it is to keep playing at the highest level. Time will come to make that decision.

“Right now I’ve still got a good length on my contract, I want to stay here forever and I hope to retire here, but you know if I keep going and I feel fit and I feel healthy, but when you get into your 30s things change, but I’d love to retire at this club.”

Liverpool signed Robertson back in 2017 from Hull city for an £8m deal and since then he has made a total of 175 appearances for the club. In this period, he has assisted 37 times and has scored 5 goals, including seven assists and a goal in the 2020-21 season. The full-back duo, which includes Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, are one of the main reasons behind Liverpool’s success over the years in both Premier League and Champions League football.
