The Caribbean Premier League organising committee has confirmed the window and venue for the league’s forthcoming edition. The CPL 2021 will get underway on August 28, with its marquee final scheduled for September 19.

This year’s CPL will also be held in a bio-bubble in St Kitts & Nevis, given the pandemic times. The famous Warner Park will host all 33 games. The pattern is similar to last year, where all CPL 2020 fixtures were played in Trinidad & Tobago for health safety purposes.

“It is really exciting to have the tournament window for 2021 confirmed and I would like to thank the St Kitts & Nevis government for agreeing to host this year’s event,”

    CPL COO Pete Russell said.

“We would also like to extend our thanks to Cricket West Indies for helping us create this window in a busy summer of cricket for them. We are looking forward to once again successfully staging the Hero CPL in 2021,”

    he added.

The CPL 2021 will be carrying a greater sense of anticipation about it due to a steep rise in the league’s viewership numbers last year. The last year’s edition of the CPL enjoyed an estimated viewership of 523 million, which was a 67% increase from the league’s 2019 edition.

CPL has become one of the biggest T20 leagues in the world outside the Indian Premier League, with its ability to attract the biggest cricketing names across the globe during the Caribbean summer and a constantly rising fanbase.

The CPL 2021 will end a long summer of cricket for the West Indies players, who’ll take on South Africa, Australia and Pakistan in a bumper home international season. The Calypso Kings will play 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 15 T20Is before joining their respective CPL teams.
