The T20 specialist has been suffering from a shoulder injury for quite some time now. Gurney was a part of KKR in the 2019 edition of the IPL in which he picked up eight wickets in seven games.

Harry Gurney did not enjoy a lot of success at the international level but his heroics in different T20 leagues around the world earned him an IPL contract a few years back. The 34 year old enjoyed moderate success in IPL taking eight wickets in the season. His best figures of two for 25 came against Rajasthan Royals.

.The Nottingham-born cricketer featured in 10 ODIs and two T20 Internationals for England back in 2014. Gurney took to social media to announce his retirement from all forms of the game. He said that the time has arrived for him to hang up the boots. He claimed that he has been trying extremely hard to recover from the shoulder injury but to no avail.

In an interview with KKR last year, Gurney claimed that playing in Eden Gardens in front of 70,000 people was just the most incredible cricketing and life experience for him. He said that he absolutely loved the passion and love for the game he witnessed in India.

Gurney played for numerous franchises across the globe and delivered impressive performances. He featured for Nottinghamshire, Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash, Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League in his short but impactful career.
