Inter Milan are walking away towards the Serie A league title with Romelu Lukaku especially in excellent form. However, the Belgian striker may not even be at the club once the summer window is over.
It could be the case of one in, one out for Inter Milan when the transfer window opens up this summer. The Serie A side is being linked with a move for Atalanta forward Luis Muriel. Meanwhile, Inter striker Romelu Lukaku might be on his way out, with sources claiming that the Belgian forward might return to the Premier League next season.
According to a report by Calciomercato, Inter Milan and rivals AC Milan are interested in Atalanta striker Luis Muriel. The Colombian is enjoying one of the best campaigns of his career and has scored 18 times in the league this season. Furthermore, he has 22 goals across all competitions and has also had a hand in nine assists.
Both the Milan clubs are keeping an eye on the Colombia international. Inter remain keen on the 30-year-old while Milan also retain an interest in a player they nearly signed in January 2019. On that occasion, Muriel joined Fiorentina from Sevilla before later completing a permanent move to Atalanta.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan could bid farewell to striker Romelu Lukaku before the subsequent season. The Belgium international could be on his way back to the Premier League – according to several of The Athletic’s sources.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the forward, along with Manchester City. The Blues signed Lukaku while he was still a teenager from Anderlecht before loaning him out for several seasons. The striker was sold to Everton for a profit later on, before an opportunity to return to Chelsea arose. On that occasion, however, the London side was beaten to his signature by Manchester United.
United sold Lukaku to Inter after a couple of seasons. It is at Inter where the Belgian is plying his trade currently, where he leads the line with Lautaro Martinez. He has scored 21 times in the league this season and Inter look to win their first Scudetto since 2010.
