Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier, who tested positive for Covid-19, have now returned home after completing their period of isolation. The franchise informed that the players will undergo another RT-PCR test upon reaching home.

After a number of cricketers who participated in the 14th edition of the IPL tested positive for Covid-19, the marquee league was suspended midway. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials have confirmed that both KKR players, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have gone home. The official concluded by saying that both the cricketers are in good spirits as well.

The official further stated that Sandeep is doing fine. No temperature, no other symptoms, and is feeling good. Varun is still a little under the weather, but both the players are in good spirits.

Only 29 out of the 60 scheduled matches were completed in the 2021 edition of the IPL before the T20 league was suspended. However, the BCCI is eyeing the September window to conduct the remaining matches.

At the time when the 2021 edition of the IPL was suspended, the Delhi Capitals were placed at the top of the points table. The Rishabh Pant led franchise has won 6 out of the 8 matches. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings also displayed incredible form in the first half of the IPL. Whereas the Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disappointing season. The side lost 6 out of the 7 matches they played.
