Hotspur are reportdly having troubles finding a manager for next season. Their search has led them to Germany, with Ralf Rangnick being eyed as the man to succeed Jose Mourinho in the dugout.

According to Bild’s report, Tottenham is eyeing Ralf Rangnick as a potential successor to Jose Mourinho. Spurs have been without a manager since sacking the Portuguese coach last month. Former player Ryan Mason has been given the reigns of the first team on an interim basis until the end of the current season.

Spurs were said to be keen to appoint Eric Ten Hag as their new manager starting next season. However, the Dutchman recently renewed his deal with Ajax till 2023, pouring water over the speculation. He is now expected to remain in his current position, with Spurs turning their attention to another candidate.

That candidate is former RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim head coach, Ralf Rangnick. The German has been without a job since leaving his role with the Red Bull corporation in 2020. He has been linked with positions at AC Milan, Chelsea, and Schalke but is yet to take up a new role.

Rangnick was linked with the clubs mentioned above in different capacities. Milan were reportedly keen to appoint him as their manager-cum-sporting director while Chelsea were just looking at a head coach role. He was also linked with the technical role at Germany’s current crisis club, Schalke 04, but that move did not come to pass. The report states that Spurs are looking towards Rangnick as a replacement for Mourinho. Whether his role would extend beyond the dugout remains to be seen.

Spurs are in the hunt for their third different manager in two years. They initially sacked Mauricio Pochettino midway through the previous season as a run of bad results left them in a precarious position. Mourinho came in to replace him and led the London side to a sixth-place finish and Europa League qualification. He was sacked on April 19, 2021, with Spurs in danger of missing out on the Champions League for a second season running.
