David Warner and Michael Slater have denied the rumours of a late-night brawl in Maldives where all the Australians have flown to after the IPL was suspended. While Slater said that there is zero chance of the duo being involved in a brawl, Warner was puzzled from where such news came up.

David Warner and Michael Slater have been in the news quite a bit in the couple of weeks. Warner was axed as the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad and was eventually dropped from the playing XI as well. There were multiple reports around rift going on between him and the SRH team management. Meanwhile, Slater slammed the Australian Prime Minister and government to close the borders and not allow the stranded Australians in India to enter the country.

In more news that came out, it was alleged that Slater and Warner, who are both in the Maldives, were involved in a late-night brawl after both of them were drunk. However, both Slater and Warner have denied any such rumours. Both of them said that “nothing happened“.

Slater said that he and Warner are great mates, and there are absolutely no chances of them being involved in a brawl. “There is absolutely nothing to the rumour mill Buzz. Davie [David Warner] and I are great mates and absolutely zero chance of (having) a fight,“

Slater said as reported by foxsports.com.au.

Meanwhile, Warner was surprised to see such news doing rounds around the media.

“There has been no drama. I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can’t write anything,“

    he was quoted saying.

Warner and Slater are in the Maldives and are among the 39 Australians stranded in the South Asian island country. After the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League was suspended as the COVID-19 cases came up in various bio-bubbles, the BCCI organised a charter flight for all the Australians to fly to the Maldives as the Australian government has closed borders for anyone flying from India.
