The 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League will commence on the 28th of August. According to the official statement from the CPL, St Kitts & Nevis has no COVID-19 and will host the entire tournament.

The COO of CPL Pete Russell was quite excited while announcing the start date and venue for the 2021 edition of the CPL.

“We are delighted to be able to announce that we will be having the Hero CPL in St Kitts & Nevis in 2021 and we would like to thank those involved in welcoming the tournament to this wonderful country,”

    Russell was quoted saying.

St Kitts & Nevis Minister for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture Jonel Powell was delighted that the country was picked as the venue. It has no COVID-19 casualties at the moment, and he promised that they will follow all health protocols to ensure the tournament is held safely.

“We are greatly confident that the hosting of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) in St. Kitts & Nevis in 2021 will stimulate much-needed economic activity, especially for small and medium-sized local businesses.

As it relates to COVID-19 we will maintain our vigilance to ensure that our health protocols are not compromised and that the country remains protected from any serious spread of the Coronavirus,”

Jonel Powell, St Kitts & Nevis Minister for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture, said.

Like the previous editions, this CPL will also comprise 30 league matches which will see each team face every other team twice in a round-robin format before the two semi-finals and the final.
