Former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir is all set to feature in the premier English T20 tournament, the T20 Blast. The left-arm seamer will be available for seven matches during the group stage.

After retiring from international cricket at a very young age, Amir will most probably focus on participating in major cricket leagues across the globe. If Kent manages to qualify for the playoffs, then Amir will continue his stint for them.

Interestingly, this is the second contract for Amir for this year’s English summer. He will also feature in ‘The Hundred’, which is a new league with a new set of rules. He’ll play for the London Spirit under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan. Spirit is a franchise that represents Middlesex, Essex, and Northamptonshire counties.

The left-arm pacer played county cricket for Essex during the 2017 and 2019 season. The 29-year-old announced an early retirement from international cricket after an ugly spat with the Pakistan team management.

He was part of both the Pakistan squads, which won the T20 World Cup in 2009 and the Champions Trophy in 2017. In 2010, Mohammad Amir was involved in the infamous spot-fixing scandal, due to which he was banned from all forms of cricket for five years. He made a magnificent comeback in the green jersey and delivered numerous match-winning performances.
