Manchester City FC Head Coach Pep Guardiola stated that the club will not buy any new striker at this moment, despite strong rumours about a possible move for Erling Haaland.
Pep Guardiola denied all reports of a possible arrival of a new striker at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the game against Leicester in the pre-match press conference on Friday. Guardiola said that despite the rumours of the possible moves of Erling Haaland and Danny Ings to Manchester City, the current financial situation does not allow them to buy new strikers.
We have enough players in the first-team right now and we have interesting players in the academy, so there is a big chance that because of the economic situation in the world right now, we are not going to sign a striker next season,
Guardiola said.
Manchester City FC recently announced that club-record goal-scorer Sergio Aguero will leave the club after his contract at the Etihad runs out in June.
They have not been a club relying on one single player to score goals under Guardiola and that is supposed to remain the same going forward as well.
