Juventus has signed Paul Pogba on a long-term contract, the club announced on Monday morning. The midfielder returns to Turin on a four-year deal after exiting Manchester United and will wear the number 10 shirt – previously adorned by Paulo Dybala, who left the club this summer – for his second stint.

Yet again, the Bianconeri haven’t paid their English counterparts a transfer fee. They have signed Pogba on a free transfer for the second time in his professional career.

Pogba, who joined United signed six years ago in a world-record transfer (€105m), left the club earlier this summer in acrimonious circumstances. The Frenchman had offers on the table from the Red Devils but, deeming them insignificant, decided to pursue opportunities elsewhere. He was captured saying as much in a recently released documentary about his personal life.

“How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing?”

Pogba said on the revelation of Manchester United’s second contract offer worth more than 290,000 pounds per week.

In his second stint at the club, Pogba made 226 appearances for Manchester United and scored 39 goals – dividing opinions within the fanbase and from pundits.

He returns to Juventus, the club where he first rose to prominence as a burgeoning midfielder between 2012 and 2016. Back then, he helped the Old Lady continue her remarkable resurgence, winning the league title in all four seasons, two domestic cups, and two supercups.

Pogba becomes the Bianconeri’s second signing of the season – and second for free – after they brought in Angel Di Maria following his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.
