Leeds United have been busy in the transfer market. The Whites have signed wing-man Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord, the club announced on Thursday morning. The Colombian has signed a five-year deal, which will run until the end of the 2026/27 season, while the club has paid their Dutch counterparts a fee in the region of 22 million pounds to complete the transfer.

Sinisterra becomes Leeds’ sixth signing of the summer; the club previously confirmed deals for Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, and Tyler Adams. The 23-year-old is expected to replace the outgoing Raphinha for the Midlands side.

In his first interview with the club’s TV, the winger expressed his delight at joining a historic club, claiming that it was his dream to play in the Premier League.

“I know it’s a historic club with beautiful fans. I heard a lot of things about the stadium and atmosphere, it’s amazing so I can’t wait to feel that in person.

“It was my dream when I was a child [to play in the Premier League], right now I am close to making that.”

Sinisterra enjoyed his best season to date with Feyenoord last time around.

He scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists in 42 appearances, as the Dutch giants finished third in the league and lost the final of the UEFA Conference League. Despite his high output, Sinisterra declared his wavy skill-set as one of his key characteristics.

“I think it is also one of my characteristics, to enjoy and make the fans happy with my skills, my quality, and hopefully I can do that here at Elland Road.”

Leeds start their 2022/23 Premier League campaign at home to Wolverhampton before traveling to Southampton for their first away game of the season.
