After leaving PSG, the Argentine international received several options to choose for his next destination, and he has now chosen Juventus reports Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport. The club’s board of directors improved their proposal in recent hours, and Di Maria’s representatives accepted it.

The 34-year-old was sick of waiting for an offer from Barcelona and thus settled on joining the Serie A giants. He has agreed to a one-year contract with a salary of 7 million euros as per the publication.

When it comes to financial details, there are still a few minor details to iron out, but paperwork is ready to be processed. Di Maria intends to stay in Europe for another season before returning to his native Argentina. He has the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in mind and wants to be competing at the highest level possible prior to that tournament.

Juve are willing to give him those opportunities, and he will add to Massimiliano Allegri’s attacking arsenal at the Allianz Stadium.

Di Maria has been repeatedly linked with Barcelona, but the club’s financial difficulties have repeatedly hampered its potential in this summer’s transfer window. If he would have joined the Catalans, he would have joined a select group of players who have played for both Clasico clubs, including Ronaldo and Luis Figo.

The Argentine, who has 122 international caps, first arrived in Europe in 2007 when he joined SL Benfica from Rosario Central. Real Madrid scooped him after three seasons in Portugal, spending an initial 25 million euros to secure his signature.

The player won the Liga and Champions League titles while at the Bernabeu, but he left for Manchester United in the summer of 2014 for 59.7 million pounds. He found life difficult in England and left Old Trafford after only one season to join PSG.
