Australia and New Zealand are set to host the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The World Cup will feature 32 teams for the first time and the venues have now been disclosed to the public.
FIFA announced nine host cities and ten venues in Australia and New Zealand for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023. This will be the first time that the women’s edition of the international tournament will be played by 32 teams. It will also be the first-ever women’s World cup to be hosted by two nations, hence taking international women’s football to greater and newer sides.

The appointment of the 9 Host Cities represents a major milestone for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, as well as for players and football fans across Australia, New Zealand and around the world.
Building on the incredible success of France 2019 both on and off the pitch, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and 9 Host Cities across Australia and New Zealand will not only showcase the world’s very best players but will also provide a powerful platform to unite and inspire people, transform lives and create a lasting legacy for women’s football in Australia and New Zealand and around the world.
The FIFA statement confirmed that the opening game will be played at Eden Park in New Zealand while Stadium Australia in Sydney will host the Final. Both the nations will also host one semi-final game each.
Australia and New Zealand have already qualified for the event by the virtue of being host nations. Thirty more teams will join the hosts through a series of continental qualification events, starting from September 2021 till October 2022.
