Spurs have completed the signing of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma on a four-year deal, the club confirmed on June 17. The North London club have paid the Seagulls 30 million pounds for the central midfielder. The Malian becomes Spurs’ third signing of the summer transfer window after Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

In his first interview with Tottenham, the Malian expressed delight at joining the team, talked highly of his teammates and manager, and claimed to play in the Champions League is a dream come true.

“It’s my dream, to play Champions League. I remember when I was younger, I watched the Champions League every day. I can’t believe (I’m going) to play Champions League with Spurs. I’m so happy, I just want to say thank you my mum, my dad and my agent here, thank you everyone, thank you to Spurs as well,”

    the 25-year-old said.

Bissouma came to the Premier League in 2018 from Lille OSC. He signed a long-term deal with Brighton for an undisclosed fee and would make 124 appearances for the club over the next four seasons – scoring six goals.

The player becomes Tottenham’s third signing of the transfer window. Winger Ivan Perisic joined the club earlier in the window on a free transfer after choosing not to renew his contract with Inter Milan. The Croat is reunited with his former Inter boss Antonio Conte, with whom he won the Serie A title in 2020/21.

Spurs also signed goalkeeper Fraser Forster for free after his release from Southampton, with the Englishman set to feature as Hugo Lloris’s backup for the upcoming season.
