Manchester City will begin their Premier League title defence away to West Ham United on the opening day of the 2022/23 season. Meanwhile, newly-promoted Fulham face a daunting visit from Liverpool on day one.

Crystal Palace will kick off the season at home to Arsenal on August 5, reuniting manager Patrick Vieira with his former side. On the subsequent day, Liverpool will travel to West London to play the newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Later that evening, Chelsea headline a selection of fixtures with an away trip to the Goodison Park to take on club legend Frank Lampard and his Everton side.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest, who sealed a return to the Premier League after more than two decades, face Newcastle United on the opening day, while Bournemouth take on Aston Villa.

Antonio Conte’s new-look Spurs, who have been the busiest in the transfer market so far, will face Southampton on Saturday evening.

The Manchester pair round up the opening weekend fixtures on Sunday with United taking on Brighton & Hove Albion and champions City up against West Ham.

The league will go on a hiatus after the weekend of November 12 and return on Boxing Day, December 26, to make room for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The headline fixture when the competition returns will be Liverpool’s trip to Aston Villa to take on their former player – and club legend – Steven Gerrard, provided he retains his role by then.

Arsenal and Spurs will resume their rivalry on October 1 with the Gunners at home for round one of the latest iteration before the two swap sides on January 14. The two Manchester derbies are scheduled for the same weekends. Meanwhile, Liverpool and City will play each other on October 15 first and then April 1 later in the season.

The season will end on May 28 with Arsenal facing Wolves, Chelsea up against Newcastle, Manchester City visiting Brentford, Spurs taking on Leeds United, Liverpool squaring up to Southampton, and Manchester United welcoming Fulham.
