Thanks to their Champions League victory, the non-decision of Kylian Mbappe and some big names being offloaded, Real Madrid are expected to have a transfer budget of 350 million pounds available to spend on players this summer, reports Goal.
Whilst their arch-rivals Barcelona are perennially languishing in debt and are struggling to raise immediate funds in order to write off losses before the year closes, Los Blancos are enjoying a wonderful year both on and off the pitch.

While the U-turn taken in the Kylian Mbappe saga may have hurt the sentiment of several Madrid fans who had almost taken his arrival for granted this summer, the club doesn’t have too much to worry about as they will have a massive transfer budget for this transfer window.
Real Madrid have managed to trim their operating expenses across the board and have also raised funds through sales. LaLiga imposes a salary cap on its teams which is dependent upon revenues and expenditures in recent seasons.
Under those fair play limits, Los Blancos are said to have a massive sum of 634 million pounds to use on wages over 2022-23, compared to the 300 million paid to their squad over the past season. Part of the shortfall will be covered as player wages, who had previously agreed several cuts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Three of the highest-earning members in Marcelo, Gareth Bale, and Isco are also leaving the squad and it will free up roughly 75 million from the overall wage bill. This margin will probably be used to give better contracts to the likes of Vinicius Jr and Eder Militao, while ex-Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger is also arriving as a free agent, and his salary will also be taken into account.
Real Madrid’s historic Champions League run has also done them a huge favour, with estimates claiming that they made 113 million during the campaign, of which 30 million is yet to be included in the club’s budget.
Los Blancos are also looking to move on players like Jesus Vallejo, Marcos Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Luka Jovic or Mariano Diaz, which will not only lighten the wage bill but also bring in a fresh influx of funds.
The Spanish champions will also receive a credit for a 310 million pay-off as part of their partnership with Legends and Sixth Street to administrate the remodelled Santiago Bernabeu’s commercial interests.
