Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus this summer; the Argentine confirmed his departure a day before the Bianconeri played Lazio in the league. Meanwhile, he is likely to be replaced by compatriot Angel di Maria, who is closing in on a short-term deal.
Paulo Dybala had confirmed his Juventus exit a day ahead of the Bianconeri’s league fixture against Lazio, but that did not prevent the Argentine from breaking down in front of a rousing home support – one which was also bidding farewell to their legendary captain Giorgio Chiellini – when his number flashed up on the board with ten minutes left to play. In a social media post, the 28-year-old said the following.
“It is difficult to find the right words to greet you. There are so many years and so many emotions involved altogether. I thought we would be together even more years, but fate puts us on different paths.
“I will never forget everything you made me experience, every game, every goal. With you, I grew up, I learned, I lived and I dreamed. It was been seven years of magic, 12 trophies, and 115 goals that no one will take away from us, never.”
Dybala wrote.
Dybala is seemingly on his way to Inter Milan on a free transfer, with Juventus turning to his compatriot Angel di Maria in search of a low-cost replacement. As per Goal, the Bianconeri have reached a total agreement with the 34-year-old.
He will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract this summer and sign for Juve on a one-year deal, with the option to extend it further by 12 months; Di Maria will earn 7 million euros per year as part of his deal with the Serie A giants.
Juventus are set for a busy summer after finishing fourth for a second consecutive season. Captain Chiellini is leaving, but the club is looking to tie Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt down to a new deal. Furthermore, the Old Lady is also interested in bringing back Paul Pogba, with Romeo Agresti reporting that the Frenchman has been offered a three-year deal worth 7.5 million euros per annum to return to Turin when his Manchester United contract expires this summer.
