Liverpool forward Divock Origi has accepted AC Milan’s proposal of a summer free transfer, says The Athletic. The Belgian will leave the Reds when his contract expires this summer, and Milan are confident of signing the striker ahead of other interested clubs. However, as per the report, the 26-year-old is yet to undertake a medical examination and complete other formalities before the transfer can be announced.

Regardless, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed Origi’s departure in his latest press conference, claiming the forward will go down in the club’s history as one of its legends.

“I think that is only Div (who is leaving). So, yes, I expect Div to get a special reception, or farewell, or whatever. He is, and will be for me, forever a Liverpool legend; one of the most important players I ever had.”

    Klopp confirmed.

Origi might not be the only player cutting their ties with Liverpool this summer; as per the Anfield Watch, the club has put a 17 million pounds price tag on Takumi Minamino, with Leeds United and Inter Milan keen on his services.

The 27-year-old signed for Liverpool in January 2020 from RB Salzburg and spent the latter half of the 2020/21 season out on loan at Southampton. This year, Klopp has used the attacker almost exclusively in cup competitions from the start; he played a key role in the Reds’ double win, scoring three goals in four and four goals in five in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, respectively.

As per the report, Leeds have retained their interest in Minamino despite facing a snub earlier this year; should the Whites retain their Premier League status, a move for the Japan international could be in the offing again. Meanwhile, 2020/21 Serie A champions Inter Milan, too, are keen on signing the forward to bolster their ranks.
