Delhi Capitals can breathe a sigh of relief as their overseas recruits Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert are back into the training camp, having recovered from coronavirus. The franchise had given a major scare to the Indian Premier League with a virus outbreak after six members of the franchise were tested positive.

The Australian had to be hospitalized and was put under close observation while other positive members were placed in isolation in their respective rooms. Later, the New Zealander returned a positive test ahead of their clash against Punjab Kings. The head coach Ricky Ponting was also amongst the contracted members.

Marsh and Seifert both are now back with the side, and the franchise shared pictures of them on social media. The duo had a training session on the eve of their clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium.

Notably, there is no update on whether the duo will feature in today’s match against KKR. Marsh had suffered an injury earlier and had to miss the first four games of the season. His only appearance came on April 16 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, in which the all-rounder received a lot of criticism for his knock of 24-ball 14.

While there was uncertainty and uneasiness surrounding the season because of a Covid-19 outbreak within the Capitals’ camp, their matches went ahead as planned against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. They hammered PBKS by nine wickets in a dominant display but went down to RR by 15 runs.

As for the overall season, the Rishabh Pant-led side are struggling with four losses from seven games. They’re currently placed seventh on the table with six points to their credit, although having the best net run-rate in the league at 0.715.
