The Argentine won his first domestic title this past weekend, leading PSG to the Ligue 1 crown after his side played out a 1-1 draw with Lens. However, the tactitian’s job is already on the line as the club eyes a major shake-up amid yet another European failure, reports The Athletic.

Pochettino led the Parisians to the French domestic title this past weekend, but failure in Europe, yet again, has forced the club to review its structure from top to bottom – and bring in some changes, if required. As a result, he could be a part of the cull that may or may not take place in Paris in the coming weeks, with sporting director Leonardo’s job also in hanging in the balance.

As per the report, Pochettino’s future hangs in the balance with PSG set to undergo a review from the Harvard Business School. However, information disseminated from other sources indicates that should PSG decide to fire Pochettino and his coaching staff, they would be liable to hand out a 12.5 million pound severance package for the final year of their respective contracts.

Pochettino joined PSG in January 2021, replacing Thomas Tuchel in the hot seat. In his first six months at the club, the former Tottenham manager lost the league title to Lille OSC – who led the league even when he was appointed – and was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the semifinals by eventual runners-up Manchester City.

Still, Pochettino continued to be linked with roles at Spurs and Manchester United – until recently with the latter, when they finally decided to appoint Erik ten Hag.

As per the Times, Zinedine Zidane is PSG’s first-choice candidate to replace Pochettino in the event that he is dismissed. However, the Frenchman is seemingly holding out for the France national team job, looking to replace Didier Deschamps after this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Furthermore, Antonio Conte – currently the manager of Tottenham – too, is interested in coaching the Parisians and could swap places with Pochettino in London.
