As it stands, Arsenal captain Alexandre Lacazette will leave the club this summer upon the expiration of his contract. In his interview with Canal+, the striker has claimed that he is open to the same possibility and that he is already in talks with interested teams.

The 30-year-old claimed that while he is ready to join another team in the upcoming transfer window – including his former club Lyon – he would prefer it if it is competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Furthermore, the Frenchman also stated that he is already in contact with multiple interested clubs regarding what will be the next step of his footballing career.

“I am in discussions with a lot of clubs. I am open. I have never cut contact with Lyon since I left. I try to return to the club once or twice a year to see the medical staff because we are really close. Lyon know that I am free, they have to come with a proposal.

“I want to play in Europe, it’s been a long time since I played in the Champions League, I’m missing it. It’s a little more complicated, nothing is impossible in life, but it’s a little more complicated.”

    he said.

Lacazette climbed up through the ranks of the Lyon academy and played for the first team from 2010 to 2017. Arsenal moved swiftly to sign the Frenchman in the summer of 2017 for 53 million euros ahead of LaLiga heavyweights Atletico Madrid, and he has been at the Emirates ever since then.

In his five years with the Gunners, Lacazette has played over 200 times and scored 71 goals. He was also a member of the FA Cup-winning squad in 2019/20 and one that finished runners-up to Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League a season earlier.
