‘Son’s father is a better person than Ole’: Mou lashes out Solskjaer over Spurs striker’s comments

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has slammed Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the latter’s comments on Son Heung-Min for going down easily. United had a goal disallowed by VAR at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium on Sunday.

United, who won the game 3-1, thought that they took an early lead in the 33rd minute when Edinson Cavani finished neatly into the back of the net. Seconds later, the goal was ruled out through VAR for Scott McTominay’s foul on Son. The Scottish international had struck his arm on Son’s face during the build-up, while the South Korean was left on the floor howling for help.

“I have to say: if my son stays down like this for three minutes and he gets 10 of his mates around him, if he gets slapped in the face from one of his other mates and he needs 10 mates to help him up then he won’t get any food,”

Solskjaer stated in the post-match press conference.

In response, the Portuguese was visibly fuming, when asked about his counterpart’s comments.

“First of all, let me tell you something. I’m very, very surprised that after the comments that Ole made on Sonny, you don’t ask me about it. If it was my son I wouldn’t give him dinner tonight, what would be the reaction of that?”

    Mourinho blasted.

“I think it’s really sad that you don’t ask me about that. In relation to that, I just want to say that Sonny is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole. I am a father. I think as a father you have always to feed your kids.”

    the Portuguese added.

Manchester United came back from behind once again, grabbing three crucial points in North London on Sunday.

The victory solidified Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on second place in the table and are now seven points clear of third-placed Leicester City. Spurs remain in the seventh spot, three points behind sixth-placed Liverpool.
