Australia opener Alyssa Healy has claimed the No.1 spot in the International Cricket Council ODI rankings after her tremendous knock of 170 in the women’s World Cup final on April 3 in Christchurch against England.

Her 138-ball epic knock helped the Aussies reattain their world champions tag in the 50-over version and enabled her to jump atop the list.

The explosive batter displaced Laura Wolvaardt at the top spot after her brief stay, as the South Africa international now finds herself at No.4 on the rankings table.

Following Healy in the batting charts is the other stand-out performer for the World Cup final at the Hagley Oval. England’s lone warrior Natalie Sciver produced an exceptional knock of 148 not out off 121 deliveries, including 15 fours and one six, to earn her tag as the world’s second ODI batter.

Notably, Sciver, who picked up four wickets in the World Cup, is also now the world’s top women allrounder in the 50-overs game. She has made her jump to the top of the ladder after Australian allrounder Ellyse Perry’s demotion in the world chart.

At third in the ODI batting rankings is another Australian, Beth Mooney, who made 330 runs in the tournament, followed by skipper Meg Lanning at fifth after her 394 runs in the tournament to lead Australia’s surge to the trophy from the front. Another World Cup final heroine, Rachael Haynes, finds herself at sixth in the rankings after finishing second in the tournament runs chart with 497 runs.

A league-stage exit would be a cause of huge disappointment for the Indian fans. But they can take solace from the presence of two established Indian players, Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana, in the top 10 batters for ODIs.

On the bowling front, England’s Sophie Ecclestone had a bad outing in the World Cup final but stayed at the top of the rankings, owing to a fantastic six-wicket haul in the semi-final against the Proteas.
