Having replaced Romelu Lukaku with a stop-gap solution, Edin Dzeko, Inter will look to bring in a new number nine in the summer. As per Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca, and Lille’s Jonathan David are on their shortlist.
Fifty-five goals from twenty-four league matches – the best record in the division – hardly sound like a problem, but the Nerazzurri will look to bring in a new striker next summer to replace the ageing Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez, and the in-demand Lautaro Martinez.
Inter’s activity in the transfer market will be dependent upon whether the club can sell Martinez or Sanchez – says the report. The Argentinian renewed his terms with the club recently, but they are not against selling him for the right price in the market.
The Chile international, meanwhile, remains a backup option to Martinez and Dzeko – and the likelier of the two candidates to leave the club in the future.
As per the rumors, the Nerazzurri are keeping a close eye on Dybala’s deteriorating contract situation at Juventus. The 28-year-old was said to be in discussion with regards to a new contract with the Bianconeri, but for the club to put off the renewal for a later date. As things stand, his contract at the club will come to an end this summer, following which, he will be able to join another club for free.
Sassuolo striker Scamacca has impressed with his performances in the league this season, leading Italy manager Roberto Mancini to call him up to the senior team training camp during the final weeks of January. Juventus, too, were said to be interested in the 23-year-old – with links dating as far back as the previous January.

Lille’s David, 22, is the final name on Inter’s shortlist, but one for whom they are likely to face the most competition.
Chelsea were the team to be linked with the Canadian international last month, who has also garnered interest from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. The youngster is expected to leave France in the summer, but his next destination is undecided – as of yet.
