‘Want to learn six-hitting ability from Pant and Bairstow,’ says Saha

Wriddhiman Saha, once a regular face in the Indian Test team, has claimed that he wants to improve his game and smash more sixes in the upcoming IPL.

SRH wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha recently found himself on the sidelines of the Indian Test team because of Pant’s heroics in the longest format of the game. Pant has been in tremendous touch lately, and he was among the highest run-getters down under and against England as well.

Pant has been made the skipper of Delhi Capitals as well due to Iyer’s shoulder injury. While his career graph has gone up, Saha has had a tough past couple of years.

Saha is undoubtedly one of the safest behind the stumps. However, he has had a stop-start career with the bat for India as well as for SRH. He has played a few valuable innings in the past, but injuries have plagued what could have been a better career.

However, Saha’s grit and determination has been the talk of the town. In a recent interaction with TOI, the right-hander claimed that he always prepares himself in the best way possible irrespective of the fact that he is in the eleven or not.

Stressing that preparation is always the key, Saha said that his debut for India against South Africa also came out of the blue and he was mentally prepared for it.

Saha hasn’t got many opportunities in recent times, but he claims that his preparation and determination haven’t decreased one bit. Stressing on the importance of smashing sixes in the shortest format of the game, Saha claimed that he wants to get better in that particular aspect. He said that he wants to learn from his teammate Jonny Bairstow and Indian gloveman Pant.

SRH is all set to play its first game of the tournament on April 11 against the Kolkata Knight Riders led by Eoin Morgan.
