Bengaluru suffered a horrendous start to the match as they found themselves chasing the game after merely 60 seconds on the clock. However, their captain Sunil Chhetri brought them on level-pegging before striker Cleiton Silva brace secured all three points for the side on the night.

Bengaluru now have three wins on the trot and have climbed their way up to the top three in the Indian Super League table. The come-from-behind victory against Jamshedpur is likely to fuel the morale in the camp even more.

Jamshedpur were in charge of the game from the very first minute after Daniel Chima scored his second consecutive goal since joining the team only recently. Alexandre Lima made a darting run towards the box, with the ball at his feet, and passed it to Borish Singh, who laid the ball gently in the path of Daniel ‘Chukwu’ Chima.

The Nigerian found himself between Alan Costa and Roshan Naorem. He finished off the move with a panache to steer his side into the lead.

Sensing that Bengaluru would up the ante after conceding such an early goal, Jamshedpur smartly sat deeper and tried to keep the opposition forwards out. In the absence of suspended captain Peter Hartley, they did a fine job.

Bengaluru’s best chance in the first half fell to Sunil Chhetri. TP Rehenesh came off his line early to greet Roshan Naorem’s corner but got nowhere close to it. Despite the empty net, Chhetri scuffed his chance and immediately had his head in his hands.

However, Bengaluru came out with an even stronger desire to seek a goal in the second half. Chhetri redeemed himself after firing home a chance that fell to him inside the box following a deflection off Bruno Ramires’ legs.

Chhetri’s goal saw him equalling Bartholomew Ogbeche as the record goalscorer in the tournament’s history with 49 goals each.

Bengaluru doubled their lead in the fourth minute stoppage time, and this time Roshan Naorem’s corner found the head of Cleiton Silva, who directed it into the net past an outstretched Jitendra Singh.

The Brazilian found his second goal of the night in injury time after capitalizing on Narender Gahlot’s failed clearance, finding the back of the net from an acute angle.

Bengaluru FC are now unbeaten in their last eight games and are third in the table. They are level on points with Kerala Blasters but are lower because of a worse goal difference. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur fell to fourth position and trail Bengaluru by a point despite having two games in hand.
