This rule is wrong, says Randhir Singn Sherawat after Bulls go down 27-28 against Warriors

Bengaluru Bulls were on their way to inflict a second all-out in the second half to Bengal Warriors on January 20, but of a freakish raid by Nabibaksh changed the game completely. He did not do much in that raid apart from picking up a bonus point and taking a review of all time.

After taking the bonus, Nabibaksh stepped into the lobby during his raid without touching any of the opponents, and the Bulls defence followed Nabibaksh in the lobby.

As a result, Warriors were awarded one bonus point plus seven technical points. The extra two points for all out was not given because Nabibaksh himself had gotten out and that had given a revival to the Bulls.

Randhir Singn Sherawat was clearly not happy with the decision, it was quite evident during the time outs in the game. The Bulls coach expressed his displeasure with the rules even after the game:

“In my opinion, the rule is wrong. He is going for a suicide, and you are giving him 8 points. He went for a suicide. What is the mistake of my players? It is totally wrong. It was a one-sided match, but because of that rule, the result did not go our way.”

If on one hand the Bengaluru Bulls coach was unhappy, Bengal Warriors coach BC Ramesh didn’t have an issue with the rule. He said, the rule has been there for a long time, “the rule is perfect, It has happened many times, that is the system.”

Ramesh used to be an assistant coach with Sherawat at the Bulls in earlier seasons, so this conflicting view on a rule makes for an interesting scenario for the league organisers to look at.
